Ministry & Government Engagements

The Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is a trusted partner for government bodies and ministries seeking to enhance the skills of their workforce. We are dedicated to supporting national initiatives like Skill India, Digital India, and Mission Karmayogi by providing high-quality, specialized training programs for public sector professionals. Our collaboration with government organizations focuses on capacity building, bridging skill gaps, and fostering a culture of innovation within the public sector.

We work closely with government departments and ministries to design and deliver targeted training programs that address specific needs and policy objectives. Our expertise lies in leveraging the academic and research strengths of IISc to create impactful learning experiences. We have a proven track record of successful engagement through various models, including Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and the Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN).

We have a proven track record of successful engagement with various government organizations and public sector undertakings.

Examples of past collaborations include:

Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India: A skill development and training course on the Applications of Geosynthetics in Infrastructure Projects was conducted from January 17-28, 2022.

Power Grid Corporation of India: We provided training on Digital Substations Awareness in January 2023 and an Overview of Digital Substations in April 2024.

National Water Academy and Advanced Centre for Integrated Water Resources Management (ACIWRM): Multiple training programs on Advanced Technologies for Water Resources Management and Engineering Hydrology were delivered between 2020 and 2023.

Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL), Ministry of Defence: Programs on Advanced Concepts of AI & ML and Advanced Energy Storage Cells & Fuels were held in December 2023, whereas Communication & Signal Processing for Electronic Systems (CSP-ES), HF Antenna for Communication Jammer System, UI,UX Design for Electronic Systems, IoT, Introduction to AI & ML for Scientists of CRL Ghaziabad were delivered in 2024

Capacity Building Commission (CBC): CCE received a request from CBC to offer one-hour courses in specialized areas. Twelve faculty members have proposed courses, and four have already completed recording.

Our programs are led by eminent IISc faculty and are designed to be relevant and practical, ensuring that participants can immediately apply their new knowledge to their work.
