CCE Proficience Programme

  • Believed to be the first of its kind in the country, this programme is a joint venture between IISc and several professional institutions in Bengaluru, and is ideal for those eager to leverage their engineering expertise or professional experience to explore new avenues in the emerging technologies.
  • The courses, which are normally at post-graduate level, are offered during evening hours on areas of current interest.
  • Instructors for the courses are mostly IISc faculty. Professionals from participating institutions and R&D organizations also offer a few courses. 
  • After the completion of the course, examinations are conducted and successful participants are awarded grading certificates.

  • BE/B.Tech/BVSc/ME/M.Sc/MCA/MBA/B.Sc (4 years)  (Relevant discipline corresponding to the course).

  • Courses are offered during the period JAN-MAY  and AUG-DEC and between 15-20 courses are scheduled during each semester.

Guidelines 

  1. Kindly go through the Information Handbook before you apply.
  2. Each participant will be admitted for a maximum of 2 courses.
  3. Applying to courses is strictly through the online portal of CCE.
  4. Please read all the instructions provided on our portal before applying.
  5. Payment of course fee is through payment gateway provided on our online portal, and no other means of payment is accepted.
  6. The course fee is Rs. 5000/- per credit (plus 18% GST applicable) and registration fee is Rs. 300/- per course.
  7.  Please send us a request mail within course duration only, for generating invoice of the course fee paid.
  8. Any other gateway charges must be borne by the participant during online payment.
  9. For each application, participants must upload (BE, B.Tech/Post-Graduation) Convocation/Degree Certificate without fail.
  10.  Application without Convocation/Degree Certificate (BE, B.Tech/Post-Graduation) will be rejected.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Selection Criteria

There is a maximum permissible and minimum required number of registrants for each course. If the number is less than the minimum required in a particular course, that course may not be offered. A course may also be dropped due to unforeseen circumstances. The decision of the Chairman, CCE, shall be final in this regard. Applicants may be required to take a written test for selection to some of the courses. The test will be of aptitude/objective type of 1 hour duration, confined to the minimum background and prerequisites prescribed. The applicants called for the test will be intimated by post well in advance. The list of candidates called for the test will also be displayed on the CCE-PROFICIENCE Portal. The applicants are also requested to check with the Office for any information/clarification.

On Intimation of Selection

The selected candidates should produce the original certificates for verification and a passport size photograph (for identity card) along with the fees. Payment of fees should be made through an “A/c payee” DD drawn on a nationalised bank in Bengaluru. The DD should be drawn in favour of COORDINATOR, CCE-PROFICIENCE. The fee will be received in the CCE-PROFICIENCE Office on the dates mentioned in the intimation letter (please refer to the back cover).

Fees

The course fee is Rs.5000/- per credit. Some of the courses include a limited exposure to computer operation and programming (C). The additional fees for this is Rs. 5000/-. The course fee and laboratory fee should be paid in full at the time of joining the course.

Refund of Course Fee

Refund of course fee will not be made, unless, the course is withdrawn officially, in which case, the course fee paid is refunded in full. Application fee once paid will NOT BE REFUNDED under any circumstances.

Applicants of Courses Officially Withdrawn

Applicants for those courses are given an opportunity to select other courses except courses which had an aptitude test provided they fulfill the requirements for the opted course. This can be done with the approval of the Chairman, CCE.

Results

Results of the courses will be announced normally around 1st week of January for August-December term and 1st week of June for January-May term. Certificates will be issued on or after the date of announcement of results and against surrendering the Identity Card.

Identity Card

Participants will be issued identity cards which should be shown on demand. The participants who have successfully completed should surrender the ID card at the time of receiving the certificate, failing which the certificate(s) will not be issued to her/him. In case of theft/loss of the ID Card, the matter should be immediately reported to the Officer-in-Charge, CCE-PROFICIENCE, in writing, and a police complaint should be lodged. Then, request the Officer-in-charge, CCE to issue duplicate ID along with submitting the police complaint and Rs. 100/- as penalty. 

NO REQUEST FOR CHANGE OF EITHER THE STIPULATED DATES, MODE OF PAYMENT, CHANGE OF COURSE OR SUBMISSION/VERIFICATION OF ENCLOSURE TO APPLICATION ETC., WILL BE ENTERTAINED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
