Prof. Ratnesh K. Shukla

PROFESSOR

Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, with expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), numerical methods, and high-performance computing. His research focuses on developing advanced and high-order numerical techniques for accurately simulating fluid flow, heat transfer, and complex multiphysics problems. He has worked extensively on turbulence modeling, large-scale simulations, and efficient computational algorithms. His work finds applications in areas such as aerospace, energy systems, and process engineering. In addition to his research contributions, he is actively involved in teaching and mentoring students in CFD and related subjects. Provides a solid foundation in CFD fundamentals including fluid dynamics, numerical methods, turbulence, and Multiphysics while emphasizing their practical application.

CFD Fundamentals, Discretization and Meshing, nSolver methods, validation and verification, nturbulence, heat transfer, and multiphysics, RANS, LES, DES models, multiphase and nreacting flows, software practice, setting up and nrunning simulations, best practices in pre and post nprocessing, applications across automotive, naerospace, energy and process domains, advanced ntopics (HPC, data-driven CFD).
