Unlocking the Therapeutic Power of RNA The emergence of RNA-based therapeutics has transformed modern medicine. From mRNA vaccines against COVID-19 to approved siRNA and antisense oligonucleotide drugs, RNA molecules are now at the centre of a new era in disease treatment. This five-day online course by the Centre for Continuing Education, IISc Bengaluru provides a comprehensive overview — from foundational biology to cutting-edge clinical applications.
Prof. Eswarappa obtained his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science and conducted post-doctoral research at the Cleveland Clinic, USA. His laboratory focuses on the regulation of mammalian translation and developing RNA-based therapeutic strategies for genetic diseases including thalassaemia, Duchenne muscular dystrophy and haemophilia.
