This CCE IISc course introduces the principles of CRISPR-Cas9 technology and its major applications in genome editing. It covers genome editing approaches in cultured cells, worms, plants, and animals, providing learners with a broad understanding of CRISPR-Cas9-based research and applications.
Dr. Ravi Sundaresan obtained Ph.D. from Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bareilly, India. He worked as a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Chicago in the field of Cardiovascular Cell biology. He is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Cell Biology. His research interests are understanding the molecular basis of heart failure using transgenic animal models. His laboratory uses genome editing techniques to decipher the role of histone deacetylases in the development of heart failure.
