The course provides hands-on training in the implementation, testing, and validation of power electronic hardware. Learners will gain practical experience with power converters, measurement techniques, debugging, and performance evaluation.
He is an Associate Professor in the Division of Electrical, Electronics and Computer Sciences (EECS) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. His research focuses on power electronics, including high-frequency DC–AC converters, wide-bandgap semiconductor devices (SiC and GaN), motor drives, embedded systems for power converters, and high-frequency magnetics. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and is an IEEE Senior Member recognized for his contributions to research and teaching.
Provides participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in the development of power electronic converters.
Focuses is on the complete hardware development workflow, from component selection and simulation-assisted verification to PCB design, construction, testing, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation.
Unlike traditional power electronics courses that focus primarily on converter analysis and design theory, this workshop concentrates on the practical aspects of hardware realization.
There will be very few lecture sessions and most of the time will be spent in hands-on simulation, building and testing of power converter in the lab.
Intended for students, researchers, and practicing engineers who wish to strengthen their experimental and hardware-oriented skills in power electronics.
