A structured online programme from IISc introduces the concepts and techniques of prescriptive analytics for data-driven decision making. It focuses on methods that combine data analysis, optimization, and machine learning to recommend optimal actions in real-world business and engineering problems. The course also highlights practical applications and case studies to support effective planning and strategic decisions.
His research focuses on mathematical and heuristic optimization in industrial engineering, operations management, logistics and supply-chain management, scheduling, and container terminal management.nnHe obtained his PhD and MS in Engineering from IISc and an MSc in Mathematics from Madurai Kamaraj University. Prof. Mathirajan has contributed to several research publications and projects related to operations research and optimization methods for industrial and transportation systems.
